Specification for Measurement of Welding Power Source Output for Calculation of Welding Procedure Heat Input
This document provides methods for determination of welding heat input, both in the case of traditional welding systems and those employing waveform-controlled welding. It is intended that this specification be referenced by other qualification and fabrication welding standards requiring the measurement and calculation of heat input for maintenance of distortion and weldment properties such as strength, toughness, and corrosion-resistance.
