Installation of low pressure gas pipework of up to 35 mm (R1 1/4)in domestic premises (2nd family gas). Specification (British Standard)


The Standard specifies the design, installation and commissioning criteria for steel, copper or corrugated stainless steel semi-rigid pipe, in sizes not exceeding BS 1387 for steel and DN 32 for corrugated stainless steel or copper, low pressure gas installation pipework. This standard applies to gas pipework for the supply of 2nd family gas from the meter to appliances in domestic premises where the nominal working operating pressure is 21 mbar. Those likely to have an interest in the standard will be architects, builders, surveyors, building inspectors, consulting engineers, gas transporters and gas installers. Complying with this standard will ensure a correctly designed, installed and commissioned system that will operate safely in the domestic housing environment.
