Terminations for steel wire ropes - Safety - Part 3: Ferrules and ferrule-securing (Foreign Standard)


This European Standard specifies the minimum requirements for ferrule-secured eye terminations for steel wire ropes using ferrules made of steel or aluminium. This standard is applicable to eye-terminations formed either as a Flemish eye or a turned-back loop. Type tests covering the type of acceptance of ferrule-secured eye systems and routine quality control requirements for ferrule-secured eye terminations are also specified and a list of associated hazards is included.
