Plastics - Thermogravimetry (TG) of polymers - Part 1: General principles (ISO 11358-1:2022)
This document defines general conditions for thermogravimetric analysis of polymers. It is applicable to liquid or solid fabrics. The solid fabrics can be available as pellets, granules or powder. The procedure can also be examined with a suitable test specimen size of reduced finished parts. This document determines procedures for the examination of physical effects and chemical reactions associated with mass changes. This document can be used to determine the temperature (s) and the decomposition rate (s) of polymers and to measure the amount of the volatile parts, additives and/or fillers contained therein. This document applies to measurements with a dynamic process (mass change depending on the temperature or time under programmed temperature conditions) or an isothermal process (mass change depending on the time at constant temperature). This document applies to measurements using different test atmospheres, such as. B. to separate the decomposition in an inert atmosphere from the oxidative decomposition.
