Vitreous and porcelain enamels - Low-voltage test for detecting and locating defects - Part 1: Swab test for non-profiled surfaces (ISO 8289-1:2020)
This document defines two low-voltage tests for detecting and locating faults in email covers that are continuous to the base metal. Procedure A (electronic procedure) is applicable for the rapid detection and rough determination of the situation of the flaws. Method B (optical method) based on colour effects is suitable for more precise detection of flaws and their exact location. Both methods are usually applied on flat surfaces. FOR more complicated shapes, such as corrugated and/or fluted surfaces, ISO 8289-2 applies.
