This part of IEC 61000 specifies immunity requirements, test methods and the range of recommended test levels for equipment, devices and equipment related to unipolar shockwaves generated by overvoltages due to switching operations and lightning transients. Several test severity levels (test levels) are defined, which are related to different ambient and installation conditions. These requirements have been developed and are applicable to electrical and electronic equipment, devices and equipment.
